How to use the Pay Period Date Mapper
Use this for a repeating payroll or contractor schedule with periods that always last the same number of calendar days. It gives a planning table when you already know the period length and pay lag.
What to enter
Enter the first period start, days per period, number of periods, and calendar days between a period end and planned pay. A 14-day period is two weeks, not half a calendar month.
Worked example
Starting 6 January 2025 with 14-day periods and a five-day lag gives a first end of 19 January and pay date of 24 January.
How to read the result
Each row shows an inclusive period start and end, then the planned pay date after the entered lag. The next period starts the day after the previous period ends, so there are no gaps between rows.
How the result is worked out
Start each period immediately after the prior one. A pay date is the last period day plus the entered calendar-day lag.
What to check
This model does not infer payroll cutoff, weekend payment shifts, local employment rules, or semi-monthly calendars.
A common mistake to avoid
A planned date does not account for bank processing, weekends, holidays, or a payroll cutoff. Confirm the schedule with the employer or payroll provider before communicating pay dates.
This tool calculates in your browser. The dates you enter are not sent to the Nirmion API.
Questions to check
Can I model semi-monthly payroll?
No. This version uses a fixed number of days per period; semi-monthly lengths vary.
Is the pay lag counted in workdays?
No. The lag is a calendar-day count from the end of each period. Apply a separate payment policy if weekends or holidays change settlement.
Does the next period wait for payday?
No. Periods are consecutive. Payday can occur after the following period has already begun.
