How to use the Billing Cycle Date Finder
Use this to compare a statement or subscription schedule with a monthly cycle anchored to one start date. The schedule is useful when a charge appears near the end of a short month and you want to see which period it could cover.
What to enter
Enter the first cycle start and the number of cycles to list. Use the original start date shown in your provider's terms or statement; changing the anchor changes every later row.
Worked example
From 31 January 2025, the next starts are 28 February and 31 March; the first cycle ends 27 February.
How to read the result
Starts is the first day of the period and Ends is the day before the next period starts. Read the two columns together before matching a transaction to a cycle. The summary names the final start in the generated schedule.
How the result is worked out
Each cycle starts on the anchor day in a later month, or that month’s last day when the number is unavailable. The cycle ends the day before the next starts.
What to check
This is a calendar model, not a merchant billing policy. A provider may use a fixed cutoff, time of day, or different leap-day rule.
A common mistake to avoid
A cycle boundary is not necessarily a payment date. Merchants may charge earlier or later, use a cutoff time, or apply a different rule to a missing day of month.
This tool calculates in your browser. The dates you enter are not sent to the Nirmion API.
Questions to check
Why does a 31st-day cycle move in February?
February has no 31st, so this model uses its final day and returns to the original anchor in March.
Is the cycle end also the charge date?
Not necessarily. The table describes calendar period boundaries; confirm the actual charge date in the merchant's billing terms and statement.
Can I start a cycle on 29 February?
Yes, in a leap year. Later months without the 29th use their final day in this model, while months with the 29th return to the original anchor.
