School Expense Annualizer

Annualize school costs entered as one-off, three-term, or monthly charges so families can inspect the total cost of an academic year.

Tuition of 800.00 per term across three terms plus 100.00 once for supplies totals 2,500.00 for the modeled year.

Set up the calculation

Enter amounts in one currency, or load the worked example. Your entries stay in this browser.

How to use the School Expense Annualizer

Use this when school bills have different frequencies and you want a single planning view of the year ahead.

  1. What to enter

Add a unique cost name, amount per occurrence, and code: once, term, or month. If your calendar has two or four terms, convert that cost to a once annual amount first.

  2. Worked example

Tuition of 800.00 per term across three terms plus 100.00 once for supplies totals 2,500.00 for the modeled year.

  3. How to read the result

Each row shows the amount attributed to the modeled year. The summary adds those amounts; it is not a monthly payment schedule.

Method

Multiply each entered cost by 1 for once, 3 for term, or 12 for month, then sum the annualized rows in cents.

What to check

The model assumes three terms and twelve monthly charges. School calendars differ; grants, tax relief, fee changes, and changing attendance are excluded.

Avoid this mistake

Entering a full-year tuition amount with the term code multiplies it three times. Enter the charge for one occurrence.

Calculations run locally in your browser. No entered values are sent to the Nirmion API.

Questions to check

Why three terms?

It is the explicit default assumption; adapt other calendars by entering their full-year amount as once.

Can I include supplies?

Yes. Enter expected annual supplies as once.

Does this include scholarships?

Only if you have already reduced the entered amounts accordingly.
