How ampere-hours become coulombs

The input is converted to coulombs before the destination factor is applied. One ampere-hour equals 3,600 coulombs because one ampere is one coulomb per second and one hour contains 3,600 seconds.

How many coulombs are in one milliampere-hour?

One milliampere-hour equals exactly 3.6 coulombs. The relationship follows from current multiplied by time: one milliampere is 0.001 ampere and one hour is 3,600 seconds. This exact unit relationship does not imply that a battery can deliver its labelled capacity under every load or condition.

Can ampere-hours be converted directly to watt-hours?

Not without voltage and a suitable operating model. Ampere-hours measure charge, while watt-hours measure energy. A simple nominal estimate multiplies ampere-hours by volts, but real battery voltage changes with state of charge, current, temperature, chemistry, and losses. Use an energy calculation that states those assumptions explicitly.

Will this result predict battery runtime?

No. Runtime depends on the time-varying load, voltage limits, discharge-rate effects, battery age, temperature, conversion efficiency, standby consumption, and usable-capacity policy. This page only reconciles charge units. Treat its output as one verified input to a separate, bounded battery-runtime model with documented operating assumptions and measured evidence.
