TEMPORARY MEDIA WORKSPACE / EXTRACT AUDIO FROM VIDEO
Create an MP3, M4A, or WAV audio file from a video audio stream with an explicit bitrate where the format uses one.
The processor required by this tool is available, and this worker can accept a temporary job.

The selected bytes are sent only to the Nirmion media API for this request. Processing uses a private temporary workspace rather than permanent catalogue storage.
Server-side source and result files are removed when the response stream closes. Re-downloads use the result Blob retained only in this browser tab.
Nirmion writes a separately named result containing nirmion_tools and never overwrites the selected source file.
Know the product contract
Every media page documents the accepted source, the selected FFmpeg transformation, the output container, and the limits that can affect the job.
Play the source with sound first. A silent video or one without an audio stream cannot produce meaningful extracted audio.
FFmpeg ignores video frames, decodes the selected audio stream, and encodes it into the requested MP3, AAC-in-M4A, or PCM WAV format.
Listen from beginning to end and verify duration, intelligibility, and expected channel content.
Plain-language method
MP3 and M4A use lossy encoding; WAV avoids that additional loss but can be substantially larger and cannot improve the original recording.
Play the source with sound first. A silent video or one without an audio stream cannot produce meaningful extracted audio.
Choose MP3 for compatibility, M4A for efficient AAC, or WAV for an uncompressed editing source. Bitrate applies to compressed formats.

Container and codec
MP3 uses MPEG audio, M4A contains AAC, and WAV contains PCM audio. Video, subtitles, chapters, and artwork are not included.
Know the boundary
Noise, clipping, low volume, and compression artifacts already present in the video remain. This tool does not isolate voices or remove background music.
Quick answers
These answers describe the actual upload, FFmpeg processing, download, and temporary-retention contract.
The API rejects it with a clear missing-audio-stream message.
MP3 is broadly compatible, M4A is efficient, and WAV is useful for uncompressed editing.
No. It changes the container or encoding but cannot restore source detail.
