How bitrate affects compressed audio

MP3 compression is lossy. Lower bitrate removes more audio information, and re-compressing an existing MP3 can compound artifacts.

This tool is data compression, not loudness compression or mastering. It does not even out volume, remove noise, or prevent clipping.

Can it make a compressed MP3 lossless?

No. Converting or increasing bitrate cannot restore discarded source detail.
