Team members, hours, and average wage create direct labor, employer burden loads that amount, and contractor cost is added.

Calculation path

Project labor cost = team members x hours each x hourly wage x (1 + burden rate) + contractor cost.

  • Internal team members: Employees assigned the same modeled hours and loaded wage assumptions.
  • Project hours per person: Expected internal project labor hours for each team member.
  • Average hourly wage: Average gross wage cost for one internal labor hour.
  • Employer labor burden: Employer tax, benefits, insurance, and overhead percentage loaded on wages.
  • External contractor cost: Fixed external labor and subcontractor cost added to internal labor.
