Temporary server workspace

Server-side source and result files are removed when the response stream closes. Re-downloads use the result Blob retained only in this browser tab.

Nirmion writes a separately named result containing nirmion_tools and never overwrites the selected source file.

How audio format conversion works

MP3, M4A, and OGG are lossy. WAV avoids another lossy encode but cannot restore detail already discarded from a compressed source.

Container and codec

Understand the output format

MP3 uses MPEG audio, M4A uses AAC, OGG uses Vorbis, and WAV uses PCM. Source metadata, artwork, and uncommon channel layouts may not be retained.

Know the boundary

Changing format cannot increase source quality

A larger file or higher bitrate does not recreate missing frequencies or remove prior compression artifacts. Conversion focuses on compatibility, not restoration.
