Separate notes, decisions, and action markers

Meeting Notes Cleaner

Normalize rough line-based meeting notes, detect explicit action and decision prefixes, optionally remove short speaker labels, and create three reviewable Markdown sections. The tool does not summarize, infer owners or deadlines, transcribe audio, understand the meeting, or guarantee that every decision and commitment was captured.

01 / Input

Paste rough notes with explicit markers

Use prefixes such as Action:, TODO:, Follow-up:, Decision:, Decided:, or Agreed: when classification matters, and keep one note unit on each line. Input is limited to 250,000 characters. Speaker-label removal recognizes only a short name-like prefix followed by a colon and can remove meaningful text if selected carelessly.

Complete the required fields to enable this action.

Product guide

Use explicit markers instead of pretending to understand intent

A transparent prefix rule is easier to correct than an opaque summary that invents decisions, ownership, deadlines, or consensus. Review the complete result in its destination because automated text rules cannot infer every language, house style, data model, or publishing intention.
Step A

Prepare the input

Paste authorized notes, remove sensitive content that should not enter a downloaded artifact, and add explicit action or decision prefixes where the note-taker intended them.

Step B

Choose the rule

Action and decision patterns are matched at line start. Other non-empty lines remain notes. Optional speaker removal strips one short name-like colon prefix.

Step C

Review the output

Compare every section with the original, assign owners and dates in the real task system, and obtain participant approval for consequential decisions.

How it works

Line classification from explicit prefixes only

Each physical line is trimmed and internal horizontal whitespace is compacted. Optional speaker handling removes a bounded letter-led prefix ending in a colon. Reviewed action and decision expressions classify matching lines; all other lines remain notes. Non-empty groups are emitted as Markdown headings with bullets. The operation is linear over at most 250,000 characters, does not invoke speech or language models, and produces no calendar, task, or notification side effect. The operation runs in this browser tab, applies explicit bounds before expensive work, and does not send workspace text to a Nirmion API.

Useful when

Prepare rough notes for human confirmation

Use the cleaner when explicit markers already exist and a consistent draft structure will speed up, rather than replace, follow-up.

  1. Turn line-based project, stand-up, interview, workshop, or committee notes into a reviewable three-section draft.
  2. Expose how many actions and decisions were explicitly marked before moving them into accountable systems.
  3. Remove repeated speaker labels from authorized notes when the final summary does not need a transcript-like layout.

Questions answered

Meeting Notes Cleaner questions

Practical boundaries matter with text tools. These answers explain what is measured, what is retained, and when a manual review is still needed.

Does it summarize the meeting?

No. It preserves and groups entered lines. It does not paraphrase or infer importance, consensus, ownership, or deadlines.

Which action markers work?

Action, TODO, To-do, Follow-up, and an empty checkbox at the start of a line are recognized by a documented pattern.

Can it create tasks?

No. Exported text has no integration or side effect. Create and verify tasks in the team system after review.

Privacy and retention

Your draft stays on your device.

Nirmion performs these operations with browser JavaScript. The workspace does not call the catalogue API with your source text, and completed-job content is kept only in this component memory for re-download.

A downloaded file remains in your browser downloads, device storage, backups, and any location where you share it. Clear or close the page when working on a shared device, and avoid pasting secrets into extensions or third-party clipboard managers.

Tool details

Transparent meeting-note cleanup without AI inference

Nirmion Meeting Notes Cleaner groups rough lines into Notes, Decisions, and Action items using explicit, documented prefixes. It can remove short speaker labels and normalize whitespace while preserving the entered wording, making the draft easy to compare with the original. This makes the behavior inspectable and repeatable instead of presenting an unexplained result.

Output downloads as text_nirmion_tools_meeting_notes_cleaned.txt for up to 250,000 characters. The page states that no transcription, summary model, owner inference, deadline extraction, participant approval, or task integration occurs. The operation runs in this browser tab, applies explicit bounds before expensive work, and does not send workspace text to a Nirmion API. Downloading clears the active workspace while the latest three completed results remain available in this tab for re-download.
