TEMPORARY MEDIA WORKSPACE / VIDEO TO GIF
Turn a short section of video into a looping GIF with bounded duration, width, and frame-rate controls.
The processor required by this tool is available, and this worker can accept a temporary job.

The selected bytes are sent only to the Nirmion media API for this request. Processing uses a private temporary workspace rather than permanent catalogue storage.
Server-side source and result files are removed when the response stream closes. Re-downloads use the result Blob retained only in this browser tab.
Nirmion writes a separately named result containing nirmion_tools and never overwrites the selected source file.
Know the product contract
Every media page documents the accepted source, the selected FFmpeg transformation, the output container, and the limits that can affect the job.
Choose a short, visually clear moment. GIF has no audio and works best with limited motion and colors.
FFmpeg extracts the requested interval, scales it to the chosen width, samples frames at the selected rate, creates a palette, and renders a looping GIF.
Check loop timing, readability, color banding, and the output size before publishing.
Plain-language method
GIF supports a limited color palette and no audio. More frames, pixels, motion, and color variation rapidly increase size.

Keep duration short, then reduce width or frame rate when the GIF is too large for its destination.

Container and codec
The output is an animated GIF with an optimized palette and infinite loop. It does not include an audio track.
Know the boundary
A long, high-frame-rate, colorful GIF can be much larger than the source clip. Use MP4 when playback controls, audio, or efficient compression matter.
Quick answers
These answers describe the actual upload, FFmpeg processing, download, and temporary-retention contract.
No. The GIF format does not carry an audio stream.
GIF compression is inefficient for photographic motion; width, frame rate, duration, and color variation all increase size.
Yes. The generated GIF is configured to loop continuously.
