Each unit is expressed in square metres per second before destination conversion. One stokes is 10^-4 m2/s and one centistokes is 10^-6 m2/s, numerically equal to one square millimetre per second under the unit definitions.

No. Centistokes measure kinematic viscosity, while centipoise measure dynamic viscosity. Their numerical relationship depends on fluid density using consistent units and conditions. This converter accepts centistokes but deliberately excludes centipoise so a label-only conversion cannot silently assume density or mix two fundamentally different physical properties.
The equality follows exactly from the unit definitions: one stokes is one square centimetre per second, and one centistokes is one hundredth of that. Converting the area prefix gives 10^-6 square metres per second, which is also one square millimetre per second. No fluid property assumption is involved.
Only with care. Kinematic viscosity can change strongly with temperature, and the relationship depends on the fluid. This page changes units but does not normalize conditions. Retain the reported temperature, pressure, composition, test method, and uncertainty, and use a validated material model if values must be adjusted between states.
