Temporary server workspace

The selected bytes are sent only to the Nirmion media API for this request. Processing uses a private temporary workspace rather than permanent catalogue storage.

Plain-language method

How proportional video resizing works

Downscaling removes pixel detail and re-encoding is lossy. Upscaling changes dimensions but does not create genuine sharpness.

Understand the output format

The result is MP4 with H.264 video. Aspect ratio is preserved, so width varies with each source rather than forcing one fixed canvas.

Know the boundary

Resolution and file size are different controls

A lower resolution often reduces size but does not guarantee a specific byte count. Use Video Compressor when the primary goal is stronger size reduction.
