TEMPORARY MEDIA WORKSPACE / VIDEO THUMBNAIL MAKER
Capture a presentation-ready JPG or PNG thumbnail at a precise video timestamp and constrain its width without enlarging the source.
The processor required by this tool is available, and this worker can accept a temporary job.

The selected bytes are sent only to the Nirmion media API for this request. Processing uses a private temporary workspace rather than permanent catalogue storage.
Server-side source and result files are removed when the response stream closes. Re-downloads use the result Blob retained only in this browser tab.
Nirmion writes a separately named result containing nirmion_tools and never overwrites the selected source file.
Know the product contract
Every media page documents the accepted source, the selected FFmpeg transformation, the output container, and the limits that can affect the job.
Preview the source around the target moment and avoid transitions, closed eyes, motion blur, or overlays that obscure the subject.
FFmpeg seeks to the requested timeline point, decodes one frame, scales it proportionally, and writes the selected image format.
Inspect crop, subject clarity, text readability, dimensions, and whether the selected frame represents the video accurately.
Plain-language method
Seeking can land on the nearest decodable frame. JPG adds lossy compression; PNG is lossless but often larger.
Preview the source around the target moment and avoid transitions, closed eyes, motion blur, or overlays that obscure the subject.
Use JPG for compact photographic thumbnails or PNG for sharp interface and text detail. A larger width cannot restore missing source detail.
Inspect crop, subject clarity, text readability, dimensions, and whether the selected frame represents the video accurately.

Container and codec
The result is one still image with the source aspect ratio. Separate subtitle tracks and audio are not rendered.
Know the boundary
This tool does not add titles, remove backgrounds, detect faces, evaluate brand fit, or choose the best scene automatically. Review the selected frame before publishing.
Quick answers
