Turn existing sentences or lines into list items

Bullet Point Generator

Convert likely sentences or physical lines into dash, asterisk, or numbered list items while preserving wording and exposing the generated item count. The tool restructures source units only; it does not summarize, shorten, prioritize, rewrite, fact-check, or decide which ideas deserve a bullet.

01 / Input

Paste source wording and choose the item boundary

Select sentence mode for punctuated prose or line mode when each physical line is already one intended item, then choose the marker style. Input is limited to 250,000 characters. Sentence boundaries are language-sensitive estimates, while line mode follows exact hard line breaks.

Product guide

Restructure wording without claiming to summarize it

List conversion can improve scanability when the source already contains independent units, but a good bullet list still needs parallel structure, priority, and editorial judgement. Review the complete result in its destination because automated text rules cannot infer every language, house style, data model, or publishing intention.
Step A

Prepare the input

Use complete punctuated sentences for sentence mode. Use one intentional item per line for line mode, especially with fragments, labels, or non-prose content.

Step B

Choose the rule

Sentence mode uses browser segmentation where available; line mode uses normalized hard breaks. Marker choice changes only dash, asterisk, or sequential number prefixes.

Step C

Review the output

Review long items, repeated subjects, logical order, punctuation consistency, hierarchy, and whether any idea should be combined, split, removed, or emphasized.

How it works

One source unit becomes one list item

The selected boundary produces either likely sentence segments or trimmed non-empty physical lines. Each unit is emitted unchanged after a dash, asterisk, or one-based numeric marker. No ranking, semantic grouping, paraphrasing, or keyword extraction is performed, so every output item remains traceable. Input is capped at 250,000 characters and output at one million; sentence segmentation uses the browser with a punctuation fallback. The operation runs in this browser tab, applies explicit bounds before expensive work, and does not send workspace text to a Nirmion API.

Useful when

Create an editable list starting point

Use conversion when the source units are already approved and adding consistent list markers is the repetitive task.

  1. Turn release notes, requirements, instructions, agenda text, survey responses, or short prose into a reviewable list.
  2. Convert one-item-per-line content into Markdown-compatible dash or asterisk bullets without rewriting each row.
  3. Create a numbered candidate sequence before verifying that the order truly represents steps or priority.

Questions answered

Bullet Point Generator questions

Practical boundaries matter with text tools. These answers explain what is measured, what is retained, and when a manual review is still needed.

Does it summarize paragraphs?

No. Every detected sentence or line becomes a bullet with its wording preserved.

Why did an abbreviation split?

Sentence boundaries depend on browser language rules and punctuation context. Use line mode when exact item boundaries matter.

Are numbered items automatically steps?

No. Numbered style adds sequence markers only. Verify dependency and order before presenting the list as a procedure.

Privacy and retention

Your draft stays on your device.

Nirmion performs these operations with browser JavaScript. The workspace does not call the catalogue API with your source text, and completed-job content is kept only in this component memory for re-download.

A downloaded file remains in your browser downloads, device storage, backups, and any location where you share it. Clear or close the page when working on a shared device, and avoid pasting secrets into extensions or third-party clipboard managers.

Tool details

A traceable sentence-or-line bullet converter

Nirmion Bullet Point Generator turns likely sentences or exact physical lines into dash, asterisk, or numbered list source while preserving wording. It is useful for approved release notes, requirements, instructions, agendas, responses, and documentation where manual marker insertion is the main task. This makes the behavior inspectable and repeatable instead of presenting an unexplained result.

The result downloads as text_nirmion_tools_bullet_points.txt for input up to 250,000 characters. The page avoids AI-summary claims and documents sentence-boundary ambiguity, long items, hierarchy, parallelism, order, and editorial review. The operation runs in this browser tab, applies explicit bounds before expensive work, and does not send workspace text to a Nirmion API. Downloading clears the active workspace while the latest three completed results remain available in this tab for re-download.
