KEEP THE ORIGINAL
Compression creates a new document revision.
PDF structure and images may be rewritten, so digital signatures can become invalid even when pages look unchanged. Keep the signed or archival source and review the downloaded copy before replacing anything.

Know what changes before you compress.
Will text become blurry?
Text and vector page content remain vector-based. Balanced and Smallest can reduce embedded raster-image detail; Light does not re-encode images.
What happens if compression makes the PDF larger?
Nirmion discards the larger candidate and returns the original bytes in the separately named output, so the result is never larger than the upload.
Does the tool overwrite my original PDF?
No. Your selected file stays unchanged. The API processes it in memory and returns a separate downloadable copy.
Which PDFs are accepted?
Use one readable, unencrypted PDF up to 10 MB, 500 pages, and 500 embedded image objects. Damaged or unusually complex files are rejected safely.
