What to enter and how to interpret the result

Enter the employee count represented by one average scenario, the workdays missed per employee, scheduled hours per day, loaded hourly labor cost, and a separate daily replacement or disruption amount. The primary result card shows the total absence cost. The supporting metrics break that total into labor cost, replacement or disruption cost, and total absent hours.

What the calculator actually does

Nirmion applies employees x days each x (hours per day x loaded hourly cost + replacement cost per day). Another way to read the same model is one employee-day = 8 x ₹800 + ₹2,000 = ₹8,400, repeated across 36 employee-days.

Assumptions that matter before you trust the number

Use one consistent average employee profile. The loaded hourly field should reflect the wage plus employer-paid burden you intentionally want to count for each absent hour. The replacement or disruption field should include only daily cover, overtime, delay, service, or productivity costs that truly scale with each absent employee-day.

Where this model stops helping

This tool does not determine sick-leave entitlement, statutory pay, overtime rules, backfill overlap, output recovery, morale, safety, customer churn, or downstream turnover. If different teams have materially different schedules, pay rates, or coverage costs, run them separately instead of compressing everything into one average.

What should go inside loaded hourly labor cost?

Use the wage plus employer-paid burden you want to count for each absent hour. If paid leave or benefit cost is already handled elsewhere in your workflow, lower this input so the calculator does not count that cost twice.

What belongs in replacement or disruption per day?

Use costs that repeat with each absent employee-day, such as overtime cover, temp labor, rescheduling, delay, service recovery, or lost throughput. Keep one-time fixed costs out unless they truly recur for every absence day.

When should I split the scenario into multiple runs?

Split the model when teams have materially different pay rates, schedules, or coverage costs. One blended average can hide the real cost mix when hourly staff, salaried staff, and hard-to-cover roles are combined.
