Calculation path
The tool multiplies net area by the number of coats, divides by the exact product coverage, adds your allowance, then rounds up to whole containers. Area and volume choices come from the unit API and are converted before calculation.

Paint required = area x coats / stated coverage x (1 + allowance percentage). Containers = paint required / container size, rounded up.
