Use boundary

Calculation path

Fixture count times unit watts gives connected load; schedule converts that load to kWh and entered tariff cost.

Calculation path

Energy = fixtures x watts each / 1000 x hours per day x days.

What you provide

What you provide

  • Number of fixtures: Whole-number lamps or fixtures sharing the same wattage and schedule.
  • Watts per fixture: Active electrical draw for one fixture.
  • Lighting hours per day: Average daily on-time for every included fixture.
  • Days in period: Number of modeled lighting days.
  • Electricity tariff: Price paid for one kilowatt-hour of electricity.

What you receive

What you receive

  • Estimated lighting cost
  • Lighting energy use
  • Connected load and daily cost

Use boundary

Choose the maximum decimal places shown. This does not increase source accuracy.

Different circuits, dimming, drivers, controls, daylight, failures, tariff tiers, and standby loads are excluded.
