Monthly Contribution Step-Up Table

Build a month-by-month savings contribution schedule with a fixed cash increase each month and a cumulative contribution total.

Starting at 100.00 and adding 10.00 each month produces 100.00, 110.00, 120.00, 130.00, 140.00, and 150.00: 750.00 over six months.

Set up the calculation

Enter amounts in one currency, or load the worked example. Your entries stay in this browser.

Enter your planned or current monthly deposit with up to two decimal places.

Enter the fixed amount added to the contribution each month after month one.

Enter a whole number of months from 1 to 120, or 1 to 60 where noted.

How to use the Monthly Contribution Step-Up Table

Use this to sketch a gradual contribution habit when you want each later month’s deposit to grow by the same cash amount.

  1. What to enter

Enter the first monthly deposit, the amount added to each subsequent month, and a whole number of months. Keep deposits and steps in one currency.

  2. Worked example

    Starting at 100.00 and adding 10.00 each month produces 100.00, 110.00, 120.00, 130.00, 140.00, and 150.00: 750.00 over six months.

  3. How to read the result

The table shows the planned deposit for each month and the cumulative sum. The summary is contributions only, not the value of an interest-bearing account.

Method

For month one use the entered starting deposit. Add the fixed step multiplied by elapsed months, then accumulate those deposits in cents.

What to check

The step is a fixed amount, not a percentage. Interest, fees, skipped months, withdrawal dates, and income constraints are excluded.

Avoid this mistake

Entering a percentage in the step field. For a ten-percent increase, this fixed-step worksheet is the wrong model.

Calculations run locally in your browser. No entered values are sent to the Nirmion API.

Questions to check

Can the step be zero?

Yes. The table then shows an equal deposit every month.

Does this compound savings?

No. It simply accumulates deposits.

Can I export the schedule?

Yes. Calculate, then download the CSV table.
