LOCAL CALENDAR CONVERTER / ICS TO EXCEL

ICS to Excel

Place common properties from up to 1,000 ICS events into a genuine filterable XLSX worksheet without expanding recurrence rules.

Processed in this browserOne UTF-8 .ics file up to 2 MB and 1,000 VEVENT records. Every event needs DTSTART; eight common columns are written within 20 MB output.

Checking publication status...

01
No file upload

This operation runs with browser APIs. Nirmion receives catalogue requests, not the selected source bytes.

02
Original stays unchanged

The converter creates a separately named output. It never writes back into the source file.

03
Bounded work

One UTF-8 .ics file up to 2 MB and 1,000 VEVENT records. Every event needs DTSTART; eight common columns are written within 20 MB output.

Plain-language method

How ICS to Excel works

The browser parses complete VEVENT blocks, projects title, start, end, timezone, location, description, UID, and recurrence rule into rows, and writes a frozen, filterable XLSX worksheet. It never contacts a calendar provider.

  1. 01
    Choose a valid source

Use an authorised calendar export with DTSTART on every event. Keep the original file for complete calendar semantics.

  2. 02
    Review the conversion choices

ISO style makes recognised dates readable without timezone conversion. The worksheet name is cleaned to Excel limits.

  3. 03
    Inspect the separate result

The result ends in _nirmion_tools_events.xlsx. One recurring VEVENT becomes one row with RRULE visible as text.

Useful when

Practical jobs this tool handles

  • Audit campaign events in a worksheet.
  • Create a sortable migration inventory.
  • Review calendar metadata with non-calendar users.

Before converting

Check the source and destination rules

  • Compare the event count.
  • Review timezone and recurrence columns.
  • Protect personal attendee data in the original calendar.

Know the boundary

Know what the destination format cannot keep

The worksheet is an event-property inventory, not a complete occurrence schedule. Attendees, alarms, exclusions, overrides, and provider extensions are not represented.

Quick answers

Questions before you convert

The conversion contract is deliberately explicit.

Will a weekly event create many rows?

No. One VEVENT creates one row.

Are event times converted?

No. Local values remain local and TZID is separate.

Are attendees exported?

No. This release deliberately limits the worksheet to eight common event properties.
