Conversion input

Convert one length with its unit context intact

Enter a distance, choose the source and destination units, then review the selected result or the full conversion table.

8 / 8

Filter by unit name, symbol, or code. Your current selections remain available.

What this tool delivers

A conversion you can trace

Use one measured value to create a readable answer and a reviewable table without uploading data.

01

What it converts

Converts between metric, imperial, US customary, and navigation length units available from the reference API.

02

What you provide

One non-negative distance, its current unit, the unit you need, and a practical display precision.

03

What you receive

A highlighted result, the base-unit equation, all available equivalents, copy support, and a formula-safe CSV.

Calculation method

How the length conversion is calculated

The source value is first converted to metres with its reviewed factor. That metre value is then divided by the destination factor. The equation shown beside the answer uses the same API values as the calculation.

Quick answers

Length Converter questions

Are feet shown as feet and inches?

No. Foot output is decimal feet so every row remains directly comparable and exportable.

Is a nautical mile the same as a land mile?

No. A nautical mile is exactly 1,852 metres; a statute mile is 1,609.344 metres.

Why can the result have more digits than my input?

Conversion arithmetic can produce extra digits. Select a lower precision when the source measurement does not support them.
