Transparent method
How the equation balancing reasoning evidence analysis workbench works
For each reaction, compare reactant and product integer totals for every unique element. Balanced is true only when all differences equal zero. One repeated claim is compared with that conjunction; no average can hide one unmatched element. Supported means the claim matches the supplied count table. The evidence is only complete if every actual element is represented and counts came from correct formulas and coefficients. Review charge separately for ionic equations.
01
Before generation
Confirm the question, source, units, notation, response coding, model assumptions, and review threshold. Keep an unchanged copy of the original evidence.
02
During review
Run the worked example, inspect every intermediate row, and compare it with a hand calculation, diagram, representation, or approved subject method.
03
Before use
Record the method, assumptions, units, classifications, and flagged rows. Verify the editable report independently before educational or laboratory use.
Use after coefficients have been proposed and atom totals counted. It audits supplied evidence rather than parsing equations. It does not determine coefficients, validate formulas or reaction feasibility, balance charge, or infer omitted elements.
Worked example
Water and ammonia evidence have equal totals for every represented element. A fictional combustion claim has carbon and hydrogen equal but oxygen totals two and three, so the repeated balanced claim is flagged and the oxygen difference stays visible.
Formula or methodology
For each reaction, compare reactant and product integer totals for every unique element. Balanced is true only when all differences equal zero. One repeated claim is compared with that conjunction; no average can hide one unmatched element.
How to interpret the result
Supported means the claim matches the supplied count table. The evidence is only complete if every actual element is represented and counts came from correct formulas and coefficients. Review charge separately for ionic equations.
Common mistakes
Do not change subscripts to balance, forget coefficients multiply every atom, cancel unequal atoms, omit oxygen or hydrogen, accept most elements matching, or treat count agreement as proof a reaction occurs. Recount systematically and reduce coefficients.

Human review before educational use
Every entered value, unit, label, and response matches the approved source evidence.
The disclosed model matches the intended curriculum question and evidence type.
Intermediate rows and conflicts have been inspected rather than using only the headline.
A teacher or learner verifies the report independently and records corrections.
