CAPACITY CONVERSION WORKSPACE

Volume Converter

Convert liquid and solid capacity while keeping US customary and Imperial measures clearly distinguished.

Reviewed reference factorsValues stay in this browser tabNon-negative volumes; labelled US and Imperial variants stay separate.

Conversion input

Convert a volume without mixing standards

Enter the capacity, then select the exact labelled unit. Check US or Imperial wording before relying on a recipe, tank, or shipment value.

13 / 13

Filter by unit name, symbol, or code. Your current selections remain available.

0 / 80

Enter a volume as a number only. Confirm whether an unqualified gallon, pint, quart, or fluid ounce in your source is US or Imperial.

Choose the unit attached to the value you entered.

Choose the unit required for your report, estimate, or comparison.

Choose the maximum decimal places shown. This does not increase source accuracy.

Conversion runs locally after the active reference catalogue loads.

What this tool delivers

Capacity labels that prevent common mistakes

Ambiguous customary names are expanded in the unit selector and export rather than silently treated as interchangeable.

01

What it converts

Converts litres, millilitres, cubic units, US cooking and liquid units, and separately labelled Imperial units.

02

What you provide

One non-negative volume plus the exact source convention. Container dimensions or fill levels must be calculated elsewhere.

03

What you receive

A selected result, all supported equivalents, transparent litre-based arithmetic, and a CSV with unit codes and symbols.

Calculation method

How the volume conversion is calculated

Every volume is converted through litres. The reviewed reference factor attached to the source unit creates the litre value; the destination factor converts that base value to the requested unit.

Quick answers

Volume Converter questions

Are US and Imperial fluid ounces equal?

No. Choose the explicitly labelled unit; their reference volumes are different.

Is one cubic centimetre one millilitre?

Yes. Both represent 0.001 litre under the stored reference factors.

Can this calculate a tank volume?

Not from dimensions. Calculate the vessel geometry first, then convert the resulting volume here.
