Important boundary

XFA, signatures, JavaScript-driven controls, unsupported widgets, and broken appearance streams may not flatten correctly.

Review the detected field count and types. There are no value-editing controls in the flatten tool.

Flattening is difficult to reverse.

The downloaded copy is intended to be non-interactive. Keep the original editable form and verify complex widgets, calculated fields, signatures, and appearance-dependent content manually.

Can I edit fields after flattening?

The returned copy removes its AcroForm entry, so supported fields are no longer available as ordinary interactive controls.

Does flattening create a digital signature?

No. It fixes appearances only and does not add certificate-backed integrity or identity proof.

Why are no fields detected?

The PDF may use XFA, already flattened artwork, unsupported widgets, or no form structure at all.
