The selected bytes are sent only to the Nirmion media API for this request. Processing uses a private temporary workspace rather than permanent catalogue storage.
Server-side source and result files are removed when the response stream closes. Re-downloads use the result Blob retained only in this browser tab.
Nirmion writes a separately named result containing nirmion_tools and never overwrites the selected source file.
Know the product contract
Every media page documents the accepted source, the selected FFmpeg transformation, the output container, and the limits that can affect the job.
Check the source dimensions. Enlarging low-resolution footage cannot recover detail that is not present.
FFmpeg scales the video within the chosen height while preserving aspect ratio, then encodes H.264 video and available AAC audio.
Use the measured dimensions in the result card to verify the actual aspect-ratio-preserving output.

Downscaling removes pixel detail and re-encoding is lossy. Upscaling changes dimensions but does not create genuine sharpness.

The result is MP4 with H.264 video. Aspect ratio is preserved, so width varies with each source rather than forcing one fixed canvas.
Know the boundary
A lower resolution often reduces size but does not guarantee a specific byte count. Use Video Compressor when the primary goal is stronger size reduction.
