Prepare for a JEE Main Application
For candidates preparing to apply for India?s Joint Entrance Examination (Main). The official JEE Main site currently links the 2026 bulletin and FAQ; future session dates, eligibility, fields, image specifications, fees and correction rules can change. As checked on October 6, 2026, do not reuse 2026 values for a later cycle: wait for and follow the latest NTA bulletin and notice for the session you intend to take. This guide helps organize the work but cannot determine eligibility or submit the form. Keep identity, category, disability and payment information on official NTA channels, not in Nirmion.
MISSION Prepare to apply for a specific JEE Main session by following the latest NTA bulletin, checking eligibility and session choices, using the official portal, and verifying the submitted confirmation.

Open the official JEE Main site and identify the live session notice and bulletin; verify the paper, eligibility, dates, documents and session choices; prepare private source records and portal-ready image files exactly as the current bulletin requires; complete one accurate application and fee transaction through the official portal; then save and verify the confirmation and monitor official corrections, city slip and admit-card notices.
YOUR CHECKLIST, WITH FEWER DRAMATIC SIGHES
One step at a time.
Follow the order below. If a step names a Nirmion tool, its link is right there with it.
- 01
Find the active session and read its current official bulletin
Start from the official JEE Main site at jeemain.nta.nic.in and open the public notice and information bulletin for the exact examination year and session. Confirm that online applications are actually open, the application URL is linked by NTA, the deadline and fee window have not changed, and the selected paper(s) match your intended course. Check the bulletin sections for eligibility, number of attempts/sessions, identity and academic details, required uploads, payment modes, correction-window limits, helpdesk and later city-slip/admit-card notices. The site linked the 2026 bulletin and FAQ when checked on October 6, 2026; those are evidence for that cycle only. Do not assume the next cycle repeats the same dates, fees, fields or image requirements. If no new application notice exists, prepare a reminder to check the official site instead of submitting through an unofficial form.
- 02
Check your candidate facts and assemble only the listed evidence
Use the active bulletin to verify the qualifying-examination year and rules, paper selection, category or disability documentation rules where relevant, state of eligibility and any identity or name-matching requirements. Gather the exact records the current bulletin asks you to reference, and resolve spelling, date or category inconsistencies with the relevant issuing authority before filling the form. Keep originals unchanged and make a private checklist of which source document supports each entry. Do not guess a field, upload an expired or unrelated certificate, or assume that a document accepted in a prior year qualifies now. The official 2026 FAQ points applicants back to the bulletin for application instructions and exam details; only NTA?s current session-specific notice can confirm requirements for a later cycle.
- 03
Prepare an official-portal account and compliant digital uploads
Follow the account creation and application sequence stated on the live NTA portal. Use an email address and mobile number the candidate can access, protect credentials and one-time codes, and enter names and identity details consistently with the current rules and supporting records. Prepare the photograph, signature and any applicable certificates only after checking the current bulletin?s exact file type, dimensions, size, background, recency and certification requirements; 2026 specifications must not be assumed for later sessions. Review each file locally at full size and keep a separate original. Do not send candidate files to an agent or public chat, and do not share passwords or OTPs. If the portal shows a mismatch or upload rejection, read the current FAQ and contact NTA via the official contact details before repeatedly submitting altered records.
- 04
Review every field, select the session and complete payment once
Before final submission, compare each entered value against the candidate?s source records and review selected paper(s), examination city preferences, category or disability responses and uploaded files against the active portal preview. Confirm that the fee amount, payment method and transaction deadline come from the live bulletin for that candidate/session; fees can depend on paper, category and examination centre. Submit through the NTA-linked portal only. Wait for a successful transaction and the generated application/confirmation page. The official 2026 FAQ says the confirmation page is available after successful fee payment and discusses failed transactions; follow the exact live-cycle instruction if payment is pending, reversed or ambiguous rather than assuming a duplicate transaction is harmless. Save the confirmation and receipt in private storage and record the application number securely.
- 05
Verify confirmation and follow official correction and examination notices
Sign back in through the official portal and confirm that the application is submitted, the selected session is correct, the payment status is successful and the confirmation page can be retrieved. If any field is wrong, use only the correction window and fields NTA explicitly permits for that cycle; the 2026 bulletin warned that only specified fields would be editable and that multiple applications could lead to cancellation, so do not create a second registration to work around a problem. Track the official correction deadline, later city-intimation and admit-card notices in the Exam Countdown Planner (tool 41754) using generic dates only. Download later documents from the official site, verify exam city/date/shift and report any problem using the current NTA helpdesk shown on the official site or bulletin. Keep application number and identity documents private.
