How a timeline moment becomes an image

A single frame can contain motion blur or compression artifacts from the source. PNG avoids additional lossy image encoding but cannot remove source artifacts.

JPG is a lossy photographic image; PNG is lossless and commonly larger. The result contains no animation or audio.

The tool does not generate a contact sheet, burst, or every frame. Frame placement can differ slightly from a player display because of source timing and decoding.

Yes. Values such as 12.5 request a sub-second position.

Which format is better for text?

PNG normally avoids new JPEG artifacts around sharp text and interface edges.

Will the image include subtitles?

Only subtitles already burned into the video pixels appear; separate subtitle tracks are not rendered.
