Workflow guide

A deliberate id photo cropper workflow

Create a consistent 600-pixel square photo for internal cards and profile systems. Review the final result rather than relying only on the settings.
A

What you need

Choose one still JPEG, PNG, or WebP file up to 20 MB. Use a clean, high-quality source you are authorised to edit.

B

Social-ready choices

Check the receiving organisation’s exact rules. Check faces, text, logos, overlays, and the destination platform before publishing.

C

What you receive

Receive a 600 by 600 PNG. The selected source and temporary decoding memory are released after processing.

Decision guide

Decide when to crop and when to preserve the source

ID Photo Cropper is designed around a square identity-photo crop. The right setting depends on the destination, viewing size, source quality, and whether later editing is expected.

Check the receiving organisation’s exact rules. Browser processing avoids a Nirmion upload, but it does not change copies already stored on your device, in backups, or on publishing platforms.

Useful id photo cropper scenarios

  1. Prepare a campaign asset for a specific social or web placement.
  2. Create a review copy while leaving the original file untouched.
  3. Produce a consistent derivative for a design, content, or publishing workflow.

Good to know

Important image boundaries

Why might a PNG not become smaller?
PNG is lossless and browsers do not expose a quality control for it. Choose WebP or JPEG when reducing file size matters more than exact lossless pixels.
Are animated images supported?
No. The workspace accepts still JPEG, PNG, and WebP files. Re-encoding an animated source would otherwise keep only one frame.
What does clearing the file mean?
Because processing is local, there is no Nirmion server copy to delete. The tab releases its working references after success; your downloaded output remains on your device.
