Create synthetic names for tests and mockups

Random Name Generator

Generate up to one hundred synthetic first names, surnames, or full-name combinations from small regional fixture pools, with an optional reproducible seed. Names are test data, are not identity records, and can coincidentally resemble a real person; never use them for impersonation, verification, or demographic inference.

01 / Input

Choose a fixture region, name shape, and count

Select global, South Asian, East Asian, or European fixture pools and choose first, last, or combined names. An optional seed repeats the same sequence for stable tests; leaving it empty creates a new in-tab sequence. The maximum is one hundred rows.

Required inputs are ready.

Runs in this tab without an API request.

Product guide

Use clearly synthetic names without borrowing customer data

Fixture generation reduces the temptation to copy production identities into demos, screenshots, seeded databases, and UI tests. Review the complete result in its destination because automated text rules cannot infer every language, house style, data model, or publishing intention.
Step A

Prepare the input

Choose a broad region only to vary the fixture pool, not to predict culture, gender, nationality, or naming conventions for a real audience.

Step B

Choose the rule

The seed initializes a small deterministic pseudo-random sequence. Name components are selected independently, so combinations are synthetic rather than sourced identities.

Step C

Review the output

Review duplicates and clearly label exported rows as test data. Use specialist locale datasets when software must model real naming structure, scripts, ordering, or honorifics.

How it works

Seeded combinations from compact synthetic fixture pools

A string seed initializes a deterministic integer generator. Each result selects a first-name and surname index from the chosen fixture pools, then emits the requested component shape. A blank seed receives transient entropy from the current tab, while a supplied seed reproduces the sequence for tests. The count is limited to one hundred lines, source pools remain bundled and inspectable, and no external person database or API is queried. The operation runs in this browser tab, applies explicit bounds before expensive work, and does not send workspace text to a Nirmion API.

Useful when

Build safer product fixtures

Use synthetic names where a design or automated test needs realistic shape but no real identity should appear.

  1. Populate table, avatar, invitation, search, CRM, and account-list mockups without copying customer records.
  2. Create repeatable seeded fixtures for screenshot comparison, demos, component tests, or documentation.
  3. Exercise duplicate handling and long-list layouts before integrating an approved locale-aware test-data library.

Questions answered

Random Name Generator questions

Practical boundaries matter with text tools. These answers explain what is measured, what is retained, and when a manual review is still needed.

Are these real people?

No source identity records are used, but a generated common combination may coincidentally match someone. Treat every row as labelled test data.

What does the seed do?

The same seed, region, style, and count produce the same sequence, which is useful for repeatable tests and screenshots.

Does region guarantee authentic naming conventions?

No. The pools are small UI fixtures and do not represent complete cultures, scripts, gender systems, name order, or legal naming rules.

Privacy and retention

Your draft stays on your device.

Nirmion performs these operations with browser JavaScript. The workspace does not call the catalogue API with your source text, and completed-job content is kept only in this component memory for re-download.

A downloaded file remains in your browser downloads, device storage, backups, and any location where you share it. Clear or close the page when working on a shared device, and avoid pasting secrets into extensions or third-party clipboard managers.

Tool details

Seeded synthetic names for private test-data workflows

Nirmion Random Name Generator creates bounded first-name, surname, or full-name fixture lists without querying a people database. Regional pool choices add visual variety, and an optional seed makes UI tests, demos, component stories, and regression screenshots repeatable. A string seed initializes a deterministic integer generator. Each result selects a first-name and surname index from the chosen fixture pools, then emits the requested component shape. A blank seed receives transient entropy from the current tab, while a supplied seed reproduces the sequence for tests. This makes the behavior inspectable and repeatable instead of presenting an unexplained result.

The file downloads as text_nirmion_tools_synthetic_names.txt and includes up to one hundred rows. Product guidance explicitly separates synthetic fixtures from identity verification, impersonation, cultural modelling, and real personal data. The operation runs in this browser tab, applies explicit bounds before expensive work, and does not send workspace text to a Nirmion API. Downloading clears the active workspace while the latest three completed results remain available in this tab for re-download.
