Temporary server workspace

The selected bytes are sent only to the Nirmion media API for this request. Processing uses a private temporary workspace rather than permanent catalogue storage.

Server-side source and result files are removed when the response stream closes. Re-downloads use the result Blob retained only in this browser tab.

Nirmion writes a separately named result containing nirmion_tools and never overwrites the selected source file.

How time-based video trimming works

Accurate re-encoding avoids keyframe-only cuts but introduces one lossy video encode. The result is intended as a working clip, not a lossless archival edit.

    The end must be later than the start and within the source. Decimal values such as 12.5 provide finer placement.

Container and codec

Understand the output format

Output is MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio when present. Chapters, subtitles, attachments, and extra tracks are not carried forward.

The tool does not remove several separate middle sections or join non-adjacent moments. Trim multiple clips first, then use Video Merger when that workflow is needed.

Yes. The clip then runs from the start time to the source end.

Are decimal seconds supported?

Yes. The API accepts bounded decimal values for more precise cuts.

Re-encoding gives dependable requested boundaries across different source codecs and keyframes.
