Adjusted body weight is not the midpoint between actual and ideal weight. It starts with the entered ideal-weight basis, isolates only the weight above that value, and adds back the selected fraction of that excess. With the reviewed defaults, 100 kg minus 70 kg leaves 30 kg. Applying 40% keeps 12 kg, so the calculator returns 82 kg.

What the calculator actually does
Nirmion evaluates adjusted weight = ideal weight + correction factor x (actual weight - ideal weight). In the reviewed default example, 70 kg + 0.4 x 30 kg = 82 kg. The corrected excess carried into the result is 12 kg, while 18 kg stays outside the adjusted estimate.
Assumptions behind this page
The tool assumes your entered ideal-weight value is already the correct basis for the protocol you are checking, that actual weight is at least as large as the entered ideal value, and that the correction factor belongs to the same protocol context. It does not derive ideal body weight for you and it does not infer a drug-specific factor from a medication name.
Where this model stops helping
This calculator does not decide whether adjusted body weight, actual body weight, ideal body weight, lean body mass, or body surface area is the right basis for a specific decision. It should not be used as a diagnosis, nutrition target, or independent medication instruction. When actual weight is below the entered ideal value, the page stops and asks for revised inputs instead of extrapolating.

Why does the result not sit halfway between actual and ideal weight?
Because the formula does not average the two weights. It starts from 70 kg and adds only 40% of the 30 kg excess, which is 12 kg in the reviewed default example.
Should I enter 40 or 0.4 for a forty percent factor?
Enter 0.4. This field expects a fraction from 0 to 1, not a percent from 0 to 100.
What happens if actual weight is below the entered ideal value?
The calculator stops and asks for revised inputs. A lower actual weight would make the excess term negative, and this tool does not assume that a reverse correction is meaningful.
